Three men, armed with a knife and an axe, have stolen several designer watches from a shop inside the Lakeside Shopping Centre.
They went into Goldsmiths and threatened staff just before 10.30am, forcing them to handover a number of Rolex watches.
They then left the shop and drove off in a black Audi hatchback. They were wearing dark clothing, hoodies and scarves.
A female member of staff was left with minor hand injuries but did not need to be treated by paramedics.
Police, including armed officers, then searched the area supported by the Air Support Unit. The car the men got away in was later found abandoned on nearby Grifon Road.
